Just had mine recalled due to an issue with the Carbon Ceramics! Looking on the Internet it appears that there is a fixing issue on the rears. Hope I have it back for Saturday? Simple fix apparently but waiting for the bits.

Do you know what cars are affected ? I've only just bought mine and it had a service done at Lamborghini Birmingham 10 days ago by the dealer I bought it from but I doubt if Lamborghini has my details on file to contact me if required.

The recall is for all Gallardo and Murcielagos fitted with carbon ceramic brake discs. It involves removing all the discs and replacing the bolts that hold them to the disc centres/bells.

It's 2007-2009 Lamborghini Gallardo coupe and Spyder, 2006-2010 Lamborghini Murcielago coupe and Roadsters, with carbon ceramic breaks only.

Brakes. It's "brakes".

GRB, all recalls are checked against the chassis number of the vehicle. Im sure a main dealer would have checked if your vehicle was affected, but if you want to be sure give them a ring. It will only take a couple of minutes to check the system.

Thanks I will do tomorrow. Mines a 2012 62 reg car so hopefully it won't be effected as I don't fancy the inconvenience of a 400 mile round trip to my nearest dealer if it can be avoided

Im sure that the recall only applies to pre LP year Gallardo's, no harm in ringing though. Hope you are enjoying your new toy and if you are ever around Berkshire pop in for a coffee!

It appears to be 2007 to 2010 cars also includes Bentleys, mine went in today for a couple of fiddles bits and the dealer rang me back as soon as the car was logged on. It had a full service 3 months ago so the issue has arisen since then. Firstly impressed by the service and communication from Lambo Sevenoaks and by Lamborghini themselves in raising this as soon as they obviously came across the issue. Seems more documented in North America.

Now my Lambo and Bentley are in waiting for parts I'm in my Sinclair C5! I love the attention!!

So,all Gallardo (as in pre-LP models) between VIN numbers 7LA04413 and 8LA07799, all Murcielago between VIN numbers 6LA01713 and ALA04099, and additionally all early LP560 between VIN numbers 9LA06526 and 9LA08928.
As David J. quite rightly said, a quick call to a dealer should confirm whether your car is due the recall, or actually whether it may have already been done or not.

Surely if it is a safety recall aren't they supposed to contact you directly? Thanks for posting up the VIN's as I can see mine is in the range stated so best give them a call. Do you have to have recall work done at a main dealer or can an Indie do the work?

Sorry, the work has to be done at a dealer I'm afraid. I would imagine you'll be on somebody's list of people to contact about getting the work done.

Got mine back, no issues but it does brake more smoothly but it has been totally cleaned up and all the bolts changed etc.. And other bits done to sort a rear wing light and a couple of other bits and a total bill for £86 as the car was already in, very happy with Sevenoaks! :-)
