Thought I would share a quick snap of my new (to me) car!

I dont have anymore pictures yet as its still bog standard ATM!

I had all the typical young drivers cars before this, being a Clio, Punto, Corsa and a 1.4 Fiesta.

Hoping to get a few mods on him over the next few months, and I'll update with more pictures as it progresses.

Thanks for looking!

This has been in the family since new too, my dad was the first owner, I'm the 2nd!

Not going too crazy with it, I'll be fitting a K&N 57i + Milltek exhaust to free up some more ponies. Some springs to make it look less like a 4×4. And tints\black wheels\other little bits to make it look a little nicer.

Well cared for then wink

Yeh tbh that's as far as you'll ever really need to take it. You can go a lot further but then it never stops lol You might want to consider a Mountune 165 kit if you can get your hands on one but I had a K&N induction kit, Eibach springs, Milltek flexi and cat back and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I know it had an easy life, I know its never wanted for anything mechanically, plus it has a rediculous service history with it.

Only problem is it was never cared for aesthetically, because of this, the paints not brilliant, the wheels are corroded and, most annoyingly, the exhaust tip is awful!

I had a blue one too. Three things I did witch made it look much smarter, take off all the black plastic witch fades badly on these and paint them in ford panther black, mild window tints all round and I removed my centre caps to give the wheels a more rally car look! Also mine came with a very dull looking exhaust, so I spend half an hour buffing it up, looked like new.

I don't like them with sprayed plastics, I feel it looks a bit cheap, plus they look awful when they're chipped. The centre caps are pretty much shot anyway, I'll probably leave them off when I get my wheels done black.

I think I'll just live with the filthy exhaust till I eventually upgrade it.

I like these. Very nice!

Agree with not going to mad on modding - a little lowering would do it I would of thought. You might get better gains out of a forced or uprated airbox (if there is one avaiable). If you do go for an open 57i, make sure its fed nicely as always smile

All the best.

Autosol might sort out the exhaust tips smile

I'd like an enclosed one like a BMC CDA but they're too much money tbh. 57i comes with some ducting too so I'll just whip the (never used in any of my cars) fogs out and run some feeds from there I think.

I've had 10 minutes with some of that and it improved it a little. Reckon its worth some more effort and time then?

Look at the Mountune 165 kit, brilliant setup and according to most people pulls well with low revs plus sounds fantastic.

£1500 is a bit steep for an exhaust and induction kit isnt it?

Very nice mate, I have gone through all three mountune stages for the 150 and the 165 is fantastic for the money, very easy for day to day driving, as opposed to the 185 and very responsive right from the go. I've had mine three years, pretty much had 165 for two of them, shortly after 185 I went to 200, amazing piece of kit.

Lovely looking car pal! Too many badges for me though smile

Thanks mate, got the boot lock thing from eBay a few years ago, only cheap but looks nice.

Badges are optional my mate smile

185 is a great bit of kit, you need to rev it hard to get the best out of it, the power increase is above 5k. It's a pain in traffic etc due to the cams but the pops and bangs from the exhaust are nice. 165 is a better all round package, 165 has better lower down power 185 has more higher up the range, mr200 cures that and gives you the power throughout. I cant recommend the 165 kit highly enough. Transformed the car totally in my opinion. If you want to know anything specific about any of the kits just ask my friend smile

Ill have to look for one, the boot lock looks sh*t on mine frown

I do like the sound of the 185, especially as its not much more over the 165 price wise. All comes down to wether I can afford it or not haha!

Will give the car bag loads of character, a much quicker 0-100 time too. Take a look on mountune's site at graphs and figures. May help you decide.

A great start on a budget would be a flexi pipe and k&n cone, But should you go down mountune route these would become redundant.

185 is a different kettle of fish compared to the 165.

I went straight to 185 from standard and you do loose torque lower down in the revs. Can make town driving that bit harder and more annoying.

I'd honestly suggest going 165 first as you may be happy with that and it will provide a good comparison to 185 if you do decide to take it further.

Shame they stopped making the MR200 kit now really as I personally love it.
