OMG I wanted to cry.. had a new screen fitted in the S a month ago.. has some heavey rain over the last couple of weeks and now around the edge the screen has started to go already..at least before it was only in one place but now its all around the edge..

I was told it was a nightmare to fit as the gap was too small for the screen.. old one was ok but no one mentioned this to me until after I collected.. has I been told at the time I would have paid a little more to habe the screen apeture worked on as required..

So really really pissed off.. getting flannel about well not many windscreen fitters even touch TVR's (so what should I consider myself luck you would do a crap job on my car..?) also now leaking on a pillare which it didn't do before.

Problem is I didn't deal with windscreen guy only the trimmer who the subcontracted the windscreen work..

Is it possible a very old new screen was fitted.?

Or is this delamination just down to poor fitting job.? it does seem quick even for this or is there basically no seal around the edge of the glass at all to prevent moisture ingress and hence the silecone using to hold the screen in also has to do this job..?

Not mentioning names yet as I hope they can still sort this, but to be honest I can't see how with out taking the screen out an basically fitting a new one.. which at current prices I don't want or see that I should have to pay for. However no one involved is offering this yet..

Thoughts / observations welcome... how about a nice Boxter S instead...

You are the customer!

Who did you pay for the job? Is it an insurance claim? I'd go right back to them and demand a swift resolution to the problem.
It is without doubt poor service and I'd be really kicking off.

If there was a problem with fit, then it is the company's duty to keep you advised and perhaps suggest an alternate screen supplier.

What he said. Go back and give them a final opportunity to put it right. If that fails go the small claims court route. That should get a response.
Good luck.

I don't know if he has TVR specific experience but Glassman here has a good rep amongst PHers.

Exactly this. And do not pay for anything, it is all down to the person you contracted with, not a sub-contractor. Their mistake, their fix.

As far as you can see, or have been told, is the glass new?

If there was an issue with the glass not sitting in the hole very well, they would have (should have) known this before the glass was fitted. It's quite a fundamental fail to fit a glass that doesn't fit and be all wise after the event.
