One years Cerbera ownnership - a summary
Discussion
It seems like only yesterday when I first collected my Cerbera, but would you believe it is now 12 months since I took the plunge. So, here is a summary of my first 12 months of ownership -
The Cerbera is not my main car, so is not used every day
Total mileage = approx 6400
Total money spent on forced garage bills (including x2 6k services) - £3828.32. This figure would have been much less, but at the recent 6k service it transpired that one of my shocks had gone and so I thought what the hell lets get some nitrons all round
!
Other bits and pieces I have spent add up to around £300 – leven battery conditioner, TVR hub caps, Leven petrol cap, new battery etc etc. Plus I cannot even begin to guess how much I have spent on Optimax, but a rough look through my bank statements would suggest about £2k worth!
Over the last year she has mechanically failed on me twice
– a knackered starter motor, and clutch seals going. Other than these times, she has always started up no problem and run like a dream - i tend to have a drive at least once mid week and then as much as possible at the weekend. Little niggles over the course of the year have included the speedo having a mind of its own and not bothering to work half the time, the door buttons sometimes not working, the key fobs being a bit temperamental, and the boot latch coming away from the housing thus allowing the boot to act as a kind of mechanical spoiler! I guess I have been without the car for approximately 4 or 5 weeks of the year as a result of it being in the garage.
Any scary moments? Not really, except for the time I got stuck in a snow blizzard - Cerberas and snow are not a good combination so avoid at all times. As i said she has never broken down on me, and apart from an odd twitch at the back when giving it some on a roundabout, she has never threatened to loose control.
So in summary and despite the above, what are my initial thoughts on the motor and will I be keeping her? Well, the answer is yes!
I have never had such a car, both in terms of looks and performance. You really do enjoy driving, and judging from peoples’ reactions, the public enjoy seeing a Cerbera just as much as we like to drive them. So, a truly awesome car, and I look forward to my next 12 months ownership! And i would recommend anyone thinking about taking the plunge to do so - you only live once

what i meant was that she has never broken down while i have been on the move. The two times have alwsy been at home. Well spotted sir SXS said:
Although, I got a yellow 15,000 candle-light power torch, and it never bloody keeps its charge long enough....
3.5 million candle power at my sisters place. Lasts a suprisingly long while and is great for lamping rabbits, you could probably do without the shotgun if you get close enough... <fzzzt!>
It's like turning on the sun.

I drive mine everyday and it is good as gold. Obviously I've had the odd thing (gearbox, clutch seals, wiper motor) but the rest of the time it just goes - and everything has been covered by the warranty anyhow !
What a car .....
Another yellow wannabe, which shade of gold was you thinking of?

wouldn't change it for the world .........
just gonna drive it home - can't wait !
Sounds great as you leave the car park as well!
A bloke came up to me in the the canteen yesterday and asked if the green TVR was mine - I asked him which one and got a very blank look in return!
