Am I the only one left completely cold by the FType? Have seen lots on the road (we're close to the Jag development facility so see loads of prototypes on the road). I always have had to do a double take to see whether it's a F Type or an XK, certainly from the front; it's slightly shrunken and sharper but it still looks like an XK to me - which isn't exactly cutting edge these days. The running lights look good in the adverts but usually horrible on the road. Plus the hopeless packaging, why would anyone buy one over a Porsche (or Aston obviously
)?
To be fair I guess it had to look like a Jag, but I don't see it attracting the younger customers they want. Sadly I still feel too young to buy a Jag ( and I'm over 50).

15 years ago I adored Jags. Today they are no more than bling tat. My business partner turned up in a burgundy F Type last Friday with black wheels that I assume were meant to contrast with the roof. Utter tat. My XKR Cab 15 years ago in BRG with tan hide was pure class. I was 32 then. What has gone wrong. f

Never thought I would say this, but off to dealer Saturday to see what can be done.
Glorious car and AM now need to seriously up their game. They can no longer rely on the badge.

Cannot remember the rest.
Enjoy your new F Type though.
Hope you will be back for the next era of Aston Martins.
It will be like Ariel with added Actilift (whatever that is, they never say).
ASTON MARTIN with added AMG.

Ironically (given you were only 32) what has gone wrong is their attempts to chase a younger market. Sticking dubious body kits and lairy paint jobs onto big barges still leaves them as barges not GT3s, ( and risks alienating their core market). Never seen one on a track day, whereas do see a few Astons.

Nothing wrong other than the blinkered stereotypical view of a lot of AM owners who refuse to look at the market and at least recognise the way it is heading. As soon as you said modern Jags are bling tat you lose all credibility.

Hi Di, This from someone who adores AM .
Sadly you left the forum as I joined as everyone tells me you were a great "forum mum".
I am not a blinkered stereotypical AM owner. Please educate me as to where the market is heading, I'm intrigued. Is it black wheels?
Fact is whilst out and about today I saw 3 XKR's in the space of two minutes and every one looked bling IMHO.
Perhaps I should have been more specific, "modern 2 door jags"
