Fat stripping diet?
Discussion
Been weight training for 10 months now. Very happy with how it's going and put on nearly 2 stone in weight but I want to lose the belly fat now to have toned abs.
I've been following a high protein diet given to me by a PT. Is there another diet I should follow for this? Are fat stripping pills a complete no no? I'm running twice a week now but only 2ish miles then gym the other 5 days. Should I run more and slow the weight training? Or do HIT? Sorry about all the questions. Still learning about it all. I'm 25 if that makes any difference at all. Thanks in advance!

Keep your protein intake up and your weights routine going to maintain muscle mass. Create a calorie deficit either by eating less carbs or working your arse off in the gym.
Some pills may work (OC and others may give better advice) but most aren't much better than a strong coffee. And one or two give you bum leakage.

I thought the fat pills stopped your ability to digest fat, attempting to eat fat basically gave you the runs. Is this wrong? It would be a last ditch effort for me, the HIT training sounds good. Doing things like rope slams will be surprisingly knackering and should help with some toning (i think?), add to that the skipping rope and burpees and you will be struggling to breathe in a few minutes. My understanding is that they raise your metabolic rate, therefore increasing the amount of energy you use, which reduces the amount that's stored and as such reduces body fat. BevR said:
Really? How is that possible, have you got any links or brand names I could look up?
It depends on the specific pills, but most of the ones that work are DNP or similar: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2,4-DinitrophenolThey increase your metabolic rate, but that increases heat production which can lead to fatal hyperthermia, hence why they are illegal for sale as diet pills now. I'd be careful with them if you do decide to use them.

That is some interesting chemistry, cheers. They increase your metabolic rate, but that increases heat production which can lead to fatal hyperthermia, hence why they are illegal for sale as diet pills now. I'd be careful with them if you do decide to use them.
The last thing I need is something to help me loose weight, no worries there.

Search effegen / effigen (has numerous spellings) effedrineThis is one that I have been told about by a friend who competes in powerlifting, they are illegal though as they contain speed. So I wouldn't advise them personally.

Take it with caffiene and aspirin for maximum effect. It doesn't contain amphetamine and it's not illegal to possess for personal use.
Right I've found some articles for you, ephedrine is currently legal, plan is to make it illegal;

Personally I wouldn't use it as it increases heart rate, which in the long run could lead to a heart attack.
Effegen does contain speed, so is illegal;

Effigen appears to be ephedra extract, not speed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ephedrahttp://www.medschat.com/Discuss/effigen-159976.htm
The active ingredients are ephedrine and pseudoephedrine.

Effegen definitely does contain speed, a guy who used to go to my gym used to get this stuff manufactured and depending on how close he was to his bodybuilding competitions/ how high his bf was would depend on how much speed he would have in it. He also used to use it for rugby as the whole point of it is to supply you with a large amount of energy. The active ingredients are ephedrine and pseudoephedrine.
