What is needed to register a 500 griff in Germany? Is there a European type approval number to make it easier to register? Or can the standard british type approval be accepted as well?
Thanks. C

Hi from Germany,

the only things you have to change on the car are the front lights to LHD
...a nice and time wasting job :-)
and you need to install a new identification plate in german language under the hood

For the German MOT (TÜV) you normally need a data record sheet with all the specification
and details about weight, body- and engine size, etc.
....but as TVR´s are exotic cars, most TÜV-engineers have never seen one before, which can be
a problem, for example most cars are definetly to loud! :-)

I would definetly suggest you to get in contact with someone, who has already registrated some TV´s in germany before!

If you sent me your contact details, i can help you out to get in contact with the right person

Regards Tom

The German guy who bought my first Griff ( N 435 DDY ) in 2008 said that he had to refit the cats ( what a trajedy lol ) to get it through its TUV test.

That would be good and if he responds I'd like a copy of the process for future reference.

There are many more examples, these topics are quite old... wink

Currently TÜV-Süd under a lot of scrutiny after a few illegal registrations came to light in 2012....(not TVR related).

Also in Southern Germany...
