anyone work for the co-op food stores
Discussion
either as a store manager or assistant manager? Pottentially looking at an assistant manager position but wanted to know the low down on hours (actual hours) workload etc though comming from the retail background iv been in i doubt workload will frighten me. Any advice would be appreciated.
Hello mate. I'm not from co-op but in food retail. I would say consider it very carefully. The switching data (where consumers are moving from and going to) and the growth against the industry + YOY are scary. If I was you I'd be looking at lidl, apparently super intens to work for, and they want their pound of flesh, but pay pretty well, and all their insight data is phenomenal.
In terms of hours It will depend on store type, I.e. Convienience or core, but expect 45 hour plus weeks. Not sure whether they are alternate weekends or every weekend. Generally 2 late night's a week.
Hope this helps.
