Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone had any siggestions on this one?

My 2000 Chim 400 seems to hunt excessivley between 1,000 and 2,000 RPM while it is cold. I have noticed this particularly since the weather has gotten a good bit colder also.

Any ideas?

Is this a coolant issue - needing bled?
Or an air leak somewhere?

Just not really sure what to look for!

Cheers,

Malc

Mark.

Could it be the stepper motor needing a clean? seems to fix a multitude of sins.

Give the temperature sender a go. As far as I remember, it's under £20 from a motor factors.

Other people will say clean stepper motor...

Can't remember the part number for the temperature sender.

Cheers Guys, I've cleaned the stepper motor (removed the barrel, and cleaned it fully) multiple times.

Temp sender might be a shout - is that the ECU one down by the dizzy?

Would I need to refill/bleed the coolant if I pulled this out?
