Anyone a YES / Roger Dean fan....

Yes have always been the band for me. All of their many line ups over the years have their ups and downs but they keep going.

I think the LP covers added that extra special moment to buying a record, which has now been lost.

Guess I'm of the age that thinks that but anyone agree?

Yes I'm going to the only London gig next year.

No real personal favourites but was often listening to Yes in my teens as my elder brother was a fan. Like you, the artwork on the album sleeves is also something I vividly remember. I'm going to download some now and have a listen.... thanks!

Always loved this album art, and my fav track from Tales is The revealing Science....

One of my clients manages some of Roger Dean's money, and when they located to their swanky modern office, he donated two massive paintings in the same orange/grey colour scheme as the office.

They were like "oh, thanks". They are amazing pictures, but they do look a little out of place.

Yup. First ever gig was Yes at QPR. Favourite album ........hmmm ..Fragile. But also love Fish Out of Water by Chris Squire.

My dad is a massive yes fan and I managed to find a program for the QPR gig (his favorite ever gig) on the relayer tour for his birthday. Saw them last year in Sheffield (without Rick Wakeman and with the front man they got rid of recently) and enjoyed it a lot, think we're seeing them next year somewhere too no idea where though!

I've got a ticket for the Sheffield show next year

My first gig was 90125 live at the NEC, god that was a long time ago. My favourite albums are Fragile and Going For The One. Awaken is truly amazing, can't wait to hear it live!

I have to confess to having a soft spot for Drama though (especially Run Through The Light), don't think too harshly of me...

Fragile has to be mine. Up to that point I was a glam rock teenager. I saw the light and became prog youth.
I saw them at Reading festival in the mid '70s. Late in the evening and can remember falling asleep to the music,

You fell asleep at Reading haha was it that boring lol ...I'd have loved to have seen them at that time, I didn't get to see them till 1977...at Stafford Bingley Hall...Going For The One tour....or as you may recall the chart hit at the time Wonderous Stories.

A quick netsearch suggests they were playing much of Relayer although I remember some early stuff too.

I'm not sure that an outside rock festival is the best place to appreciate the complexities of the Yes-sound

The inner gatefold of 'Close to the Edge' is possibly my favourite, but 'Tales of Topographic Oceans' runs it close. If 'Tales' were half as good as CTTE, I might reverse my opinion!

Gates of Delerium - Still not sure this is genius or madness.
Tempus Fujit - The best track from the worst Yes.
Endless dream suite from Talk - Beautifully produced old style Yes.
Shoot high, Aim Low - I love this track, always have.
Homeworld - Not a bad track, but lovely production.
