I've had it over 6 years now and it had been a brilliant car. Can not fault it and it owes me nothing. Still looks great after a polish and a wax, and to me, it is still at least the 11k car it was when I bought it. Right image for my job, crest motorway cruiser and enough power for A & B road blasts.

However I am about bored and want a change. I know if probably struggle to even get 1k for it.

Just wondering if there is anything which would fit the bill as well for around the same price - 2k max. (Obviously would have to accept similar mileage).

Don't want to sell a perfectly good car to then have to buy a 10k - 15k one. But if there was something interesting I could almost swap mine for - I'd probably go for it.

Dont swap, keep it, you will end up regretting it. its clearly a brilliant workhorse.

If anything, keep it and buy an MX5 laugh

You would be insane to sell this car and replace it with a £2k car. There is no £2k car which would be as good as buy as one you've previously purchased for a lot more and know so well.

Keep it until such time as you can properly upgrade it, which is likely going to mean a much bigger budget.

This car is worth far, far more to you than it will be to anyone else. Not worth selling for a grand.

Haha the missus has a mk1 so I'm sorted in that respect.

You are right tho. Just have pangs to have something new now and then but I know really there is nothing to replace it with at that price

No. Perhaps a remap but don't ruin it with coilovers. Thats what you do when you buy a 500 quid shed and want to look proper wicked.

Coilys are a must im afraid, the last thing you want when going for it is wafty 3 series suspension.

And try telling one of the TVR guys that coilys are for sheds......

It has a remap.

Not feeling the coilovers tho - the ride is good. Not sure if its cos they're knackered but the once harsh m-sport dampers now feel a bit softer - perfect blend of comfort and sportiness!

It's probably a Sport - not exactly a lotus Elise but not 'wafty 3 series' suspension either. It could almost certainly do with a nice refresh but I'd keep it OEM as BMW know more about getting the 3 Series to ride and handle properly than Ebay does.

I suspect they are not fitting the same sort that now seemt o be the craze amongst people with old 3 Series hehe

Ok, decent coilovers then, not some Ebay tat.

Agree. I'd be keeping the 330d I reckon.

I stuck my 335d on AT last night and there were a few similar mile examples for around seven grand.

Wow would really sell for that? Again I feel a car like yours is worth more to you surely, a bit like my Z4C worth what 9k? Therefore I will never sell.

Sorry I wasn't clear! Mine is 57k miles so up for a bit more than that but there were many big milers on for fairly strong money. Whether they sell or not is another matter!

I think you'd be crazy to sell to be honest. If you are desperate for something else spend the grand on something like the Clio 172 and have a few months fun, then punt it on/break it/scrap it and you'll go back to the 330d having got it out of your system wink

It sounds like your are undervaluing the bimmer, but it will never sell for what it's worth to you and it sounds like you'll struggle to get something else in similar condition for the money?

You need to write it off as a personal loss, and keep it. Even if you buy a new car I would still keep it.

I have to do the same with my 03 A3 tdi... it is worth £4k supposedly but not even a phone call when it was for sale for 4 months. Dealer p/x offered £1500 so it is worth £2k to me at best given it needs a major service. I will probably sell it to my company and then use it as a business only car unless a dealer offers me 3k+ in a p/x which is extremely doubtfull.
