My Car was parked for a couple of weeks. Now No start up. No sound of fuel pump priming. Checked the pump relay and it was clicking on and off when the ignition is first turned . I put a meter at the pump ( pump disconected) and saw it register a rise upto 11 v when the ignition is turned on, and then drop to zero after a few seconds as should be expected. I ran 12V directly to the pump from my battery and it runs normally. I noticed bu using the meter, that when the pump is connected to the supply the reading is zero, however if the pump is left disconnected , the voltage reading from the electrical connector is normal. It appears that the supply fails when it's under load. I changed the fuel pump relay anyway but made results were the same.
Anyone experienced anything similar ?

Use the existing feed for switching a new relay ,I fitted mine in the boot near the speakers with a relay holder .I now get 12volts to the pump.
