As per thread title. I have so far used hot soapy water on the seats and carpet plus 1001 carpet stain remover and then Fabreeze but it still smells!

Going to need a car freshener for sure.

Will see if that is in Tesco. Problem for vac is one area is right in the multiple right angles of the area the transmission tunnel and seat runners meet.

Can you get a 'crevice' nozzle down there? ... worst case you may have to remove the seat.

You need a enzyme type cleaner like autosmart biobrisk to clean it up and remove the smell.

Buy a new carpet from a dismantler. If you go old school then itll only cost about a tenner.

Thanks everyone.

I have gone for bicarbonate soda overnight then a crevice nozzle on the vacuum tomorrow. We have a pet odour remover so that will then go on and lastly a fabreeze. Will update with how it goes.

you can get these 'bomb' things where its like an aerosol tube and work quite effectively once you have got rid of root cause of the problem. I think they are around £6, and have had them from local autosmart guy before.

You should have locked the dog in the car afterwards. Mine usually eats what she throws up...

Just to update smell mostly gone. May try the vanish spray and a bit more fabreeze. Hopefully will be gone in a few more days.

The febreze works great once it's gone - I used some APC & a scrubbing brush to get rid of it after our dog had honked up in the carfurious

Get some biological washing liquid, supermarket own label will do.

Mix 50% liquid 50% water in an spray bottle.

Spray on and leave to dry.

Breaks down the bacteria, and no more nasty smells.

Can safely be used on all carpets and upholstery with out using a wet vac.

Better than febreze , which only masks the smell.

Used this method many times as a professional cleaner.
