Hi all, this week I purchased at auction a 50000 litre diesel tank complete with key fob operated fuel pump..

I plan on selling it on but unsure of a realistic value, does anyone deal in these and can offer some guide price?

Also any suggestions as best place to advertise it?

Thanks in advance..

I'd rather not say about the price I paid.

No it's empty.

Limited market so hard to tell. Illegal to use at home and there will be all sorts of regs about where it can be used commercially, insurance etc. May be worth more as scrap. What's it made of/how old is it?

It will probably cost more to move it than it's worth.

Interested as to why you purchased the tank if you dont want it.

I know we all sometimes buy things that we dont really need but a 50000 litre fuel tank? Is it still in situ at the haulage yard?

its worth £1k just as scrap

there are very few rules re storage/insurance/etc if it's for diesel which needs a much higher temperature to burn/ignite than unleaded

The right buyer will probably pay £5k if it's in good order

advertise in a commercial vehicle sales magazine (there are about 3 or 4), industrial exchange & mart or resale weekly

hehe

Did you sneeze at the auction and end up with it or something ?

Where is it in the country ? I specialise in moving odd and unusual items and if you are anywhere near me I might be able to point you in the direction of someone who might be interested.

I was trying to buy a few trailers for my haulage company through an auction and got out bid, the tank however I won.

It's 30 ft long and a 9 ft diameter.

I lifted it out on Thursday last week and it's currently sat in my yard awaiting my next move.

I also think a resale value of 5k is about right..
