Im thinking of treating myself with some of my savings.

Im wanting to spend up to 1000 for ELECTRONIC items for my house.

What electronic items would you buy, i.e. entertainment stuff i.e. apple tv with a 51 inch tele, that kind of stuff.

I want to make it into more of a bachelor pad so any cool electronic devices or systems post them here.

1 sonos sound bar, 1 sonos '3', a sonos bridge and an iPad. Should be about £1k and you're sorted for choons, good tv sound and mobile porn.

1. Learn to play it, chicks will dig it.
2. It's a beautiful thing to have in the house.
3. In ten years it will be worth double your budget.

I listen to music a lot more since buying one of these a couple of years ago.

Apple TV is a great piece of kit. How about one of the new consoles. Xbox one or PS4?

There are loads of media streaming options but I'd ask in 'Computers, Gadgets' for the best advice.

I just buy all my films and music from iTunes then stream to an Apple TV. A great setup if you like paying for your media smile

A week somewhere hot and sunny, Jamaica, Miami etc etc. I know its not an electronic commodity but you will only want the next generic shiny thing in a year or two and memories last forever.

Home automation. Control lights, heating, stereo, etc from an app on your phone.

I think I'd get a nice 40-42" smart TV, a nexus 7 and some form of soundbar/sonos

Will all work together very well give you a multitude of decent media options

OP have you got any existing kit to work with? Not much point replacing usable equipment for the hell of it... If not I'd second the Sonos thing but aim higher with a Connect Amp and proper stereo speakers - something like Monitor Audio or B&W bookshelf variants for around £300-£400. Total spend £700 or £800.

Add Apple TV for the telly provides a useful addition to the video side. If your telly is clapped out and needs replacing then it changes things, I'd look at a model a year out of date and snap a bargain at around £400. Forget ATV and spend he rest on what ever Sonos solution you can afford, it's so useful for music you'll appreciate the investment for years.

Some fancy coloured lights so when I'm writing at my desk I can have dictatorship red coming from behind various alcoves to give me a sense of totalitarian dominance. In a similar vein, if I were to be composing an email to my aunt I could have blue.

I would get a second hand playstation 3 and a large TV.

I would get a red bull fridge (had one when I was living in Canada, st was cash)

I would get a duff beer fridge

I was thinking more along the lines of cheap booze, cheap women and gambling. Anything left over can be wasted on electronics wink. Not very helpful I guess.

In answer to the electronics question, these are cool. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUNE-S1-PRO-32Bit-HiFi-D...
