Mk3 mondeos a few questions
Discussion
Hello
I have a few question regarding my mk3 mondeo.if any body can help that would be brilliant..
I have been offered another drivers seat which is heated and electric just like the ones I have now.the seat is from a left hand drive model which I would like to replace my passenger side one with.would the loom be ready to plug the seat in so everything works or will I need to get the left hand drive cars loom section as well?
Also will wheels of a x type jag fit.i have been told the based on the mondeo.
Thank you for your help ..

I'm pretty sure they wont. There are a lot of stupid people around who seem to think the X-type & the Mondeo are the same car - they aren't.
yes they will, they are not the same car but share the same floor pan, engines, and most of the running gear, hubs, brakes etc.are the same.I have Mondeo mk3`s,4 of them and an x-type.

You are right they never made a 3rd generation AWD Mondeo but they did make a 1st generation AWD Mondeo badged as a '4x4'. The 3rd generation Mondeo uses the same floorpan as the 1st generation Mondeo so they used this floorpan as the basis for the X-type, but used the 3rd generation Mondeo parts bin for everything else. Therefore it is technically the same car as the 3rd generation Mondeo using this 1st generation floorpan as far as I know.Mondeo and X-types share the same floor pan, some have all ready fitted x-type 4x4 systems into Mondeo shells.
It`s easier with an estate as they share the same basic rear suspension layout,
how do I know?
Because that is exactly the conversion I`m carrying out at the moment and having had the working guts(everything bar the shells and trim)of both cars spread out side by side on the floor puts me in a better position than those relying on what they have heard or read.
It`s clear to me that there is plenty shared.
Even stuff like the radio is a disguised 6000cd unit from a Ford and a lot of the Jaguar particular bits are b
dized Ford parts,or have an extra tag to to hold a wire or some other non-descript difference.
too many
