CD player problem
Discussion
I removed my changer and sent it to
http://www.centralservicescaraudio.co.uk/car-audio...
Cost £300 or so and a new unit was installed in changer housing. The changer is an outer shell with an interface to the car and the actual cd mechanism inside which is what was replaced. Removal and refit is well documented on here.
It may of course correct itself.

Don't know about the thread but I can tell you of a slightly different problem with mine. I loaded 6 CDs and all would play fine but none would eject. Dealer said they would change the unit under warranty but in the end all they had to do was realign the unit with the slot in the facia. Now works perfectly. Worth checking before paying out for new one.
I didn't do a full write up but this post shows a picture of the rear of the centre of the fascia (scroll down as the top section is about the parcel shelf).
Also the video showing how to remove is a good guide but you do not need to lever the ski slope off. Unclip the sat nav lid and using your hands in the sat nav hole pull up on the ski slope nearest to the windscreen first and then the ski slope where the start button is can be released. Be aware that the buttons (or button if manual) is wired quite tight so don't yank the slope as you may damage a switch or wiring just take your time, this also applies to the fascia which had a lot of cable connectors (see picture in other post). The ski slope is secured by four lugs one at each corner.
All the cables have their own clip layout so no need to label them as they don't fit anywhere else. I found it useful to lay padding and micro fibre cloth on the free seat and foot well so I could lay the various pieces out. Once the ski slope and fascia is off it is pretty straight forward to remove the multi changer.
It would help if you could employ the services of a child or younger teenager as access is tight and their hands are small (obviously one old enough to appreciate what they are doing) to get the wiring clips undone.
If you want an ipod interface then it would be a good time to fit one as you have full access to the cd player and the network cable.
Here is a photo of the dash with the ski slope removed

Here is the cd changer you can see the changer unit inside the larger box with the circuit to the left being the car interface.

Fantastic! That's all I needed to know. I think I'll leave it till after Xmas, but will post how I get on. Doesn't look too hard, just nerve wracking. Thanks very much for the link, much appreciated.
I removed the ski slope to repair my Sat Nav lid and its not as daunting as it looks. The guy in the link is a bit gun ho, the best tool for the job is a rice spatula, the sort you get with a £10 rice cooker from Argos. They are perfect, thin enough to work into the gap, soft enough not to mark, rounded edges so no scratches and strong enough to prise the slope free. Was thinking about importing them from China for 10p each, put an AM logo on and selling them for £49.99
