Just how much fun it is driving the wedge. On a 1 to 10 scale the smile factor is 50
Haven't had much time to drive the car this year due to work and home but took the chance to have a couple of hours today and it was mega. Cool weather, pops and bands a plenty, roof down (of course
) just what the doctor ordered.
I know there will be more chances to drive it again over the coming months

1 and 2 is only the fan speed after all, there's no definitive click/stop between the two fan speeds coz mine is obviously worn but both do work, I asked one of our reclamation buddies how much he wanted for a second hand switch and I thought £50 was a bit on the steep side, he must have paid too much for a scrapper to begin with.
You need a new switch! There is no relay on the fan speed circuit so the full power of starting the fan goes through the switch and it arcs...thus causing the switch to die.
These are available from rimmers..the tr7 used them although it was for the lights and not the fan. I used the new switch inside my old switch body so it still had said FAN and not lights!

Mine dies on the way back from BBWF even though it was switched full on. I think also you can get a bit of mild corrosion over the years inside the switch. As Matt says it takes full current and any resistance in there will cause the copper rockers to overheat. The TR7 ones looks good I must order one too...
If you have a 400SE I know it's easy to get to the fan circuit to hotwire it but I've never looked on a 350i. I would advise feeding 12V straight into the blower itself to check that it's still working before getting a new switch (and you could rig up a temporary fix, too)

Been thinking of getting back on 2 wheels and fancy a Ducati 1198.
This year the White Wedge has taken us to many places, met new people and had new experiences, all good times but maybe its a case of been there done that and time to move on.
