Adobe subscription deal?

yep! just LR upgrades are about £60 (annually) and the Adobe package is £8.78pm so for about £45 we get PS constant updates too so I've switched and have upgraded both my desktop and laptop (CS6 and LR5) to the PS CC version. Although I've downloaded LR stays the same for now.

Yes I took this up earlier in the month, seems straightforward enough and as I was upgrading from CS3 I get the same price forever (or so they claim).

The one thing that put me off was the "guaranteed the $9.99 price for at least one year" bit. Is it going up to $19.99 a month (or more) after a year? But then I have not upgraded to LR5 yet so it is more or less the same price to get LR5 plus latest PS. I guess I could always go back to PS CS6 if the annual cost goes through the roof!

I have PS CS5 currently, was wondering if going for this 'Photography Program' would count as upgrading that license or whether I'd still be able to use it? I.e. If I cancel CC do I still have a CS5 license?

It would seem so, at least according to this blog post:

No. Photoshop CC (version 14.0) is a major version update and will install completely separate from Photoshop CS6. You are welcome to keep both versions installed, or uninstall Photoshop CS6 if you want.

Yep! CS5, CS6 and CC all run independently. LR from CC is the same as non CC.

Some chat from 'Jeffrey Tranberry' (who's twitter indicates he is Senior Product Manager, Chief Customer Advocate - Adobe Digital Imaging) in the comments of Julieanne Kost's blog:

"... $9.99 is *the* price – not a first year promo – so the price won’t go up to $19.99 after a year. All the memberships carry that disclaimer because we can’t say the price won’t ever go up in the future to account for things like inflation. We also can’t say the price won’t go down in the future either..."

So no guarantee, but maybe an indication that their thinking is that the current price isn't simple an introductory offer? Guess people need to decide if that is enough security on the price matter

If you an existing CC subscriber, then you'll already have them, I think - unless you have a single app subscription.

According to this, a single app costs £17.58 per month and this deal is for PS and LR for about half that. The offer ends on 2nd Dec though!

From what I can tell, Photoshop CC looks basically like CS7 with a subscription payment model?

Unless i'm missing something? I know there is on-line storage in this offer too..

That's pretty much it, you can use all the programs offline that you pay for.
