Starting from scratch - what components?
Discussion
Having moved around flats in London, i've always managed to land on my feet and either use my brother's TV when he's not about (works on superyachts) or had housemates with TVs etc. However this is now coming to an end, so i need to sort myself out.
So what would be the current suggestions for;
TV
Amp
Speakers?
Background, i live in London, so we're not looking for a system to fill an auditorium here. I would have thought a 42-46" TV will be plenty. The Amp should be able to do 7.1.
The system will be run with a Mac Mini acting as my media hub (and general hub for photos, music etc from my laptop, ipad etc)
I'm happy to spend a reasonable amount, but lets not get silly...
So what does PH suggest?

Based on my experience.
TV - Panasonic Plasma.
AV Reciever - Yamaha RX-V475 for example (£350)
Speakers - B&W or Monitor Audio. (about a grand)
Lower cost Speakers - Tannoy HTS 101. (£350)
I wouldn't worry too much about 7.1. 5.1 does the job and is a bit easier to package.
You can get a Yamaha RX-V675 for £270 from Richer Sounds.TV - Panasonic Plasma.
