Christ, that'll do wonders for the Chimaera 2nd hand market
Although it does state paintwork is tired etc.

Shame to let a car go for that little really though

It might be completely knackered on the inside and underneath too*.. until someone has a look at it the description means very little.

I looked at one "tidy" Chim for sale for £11k a few months ago and I reckon it was only worth about £5k as it needed the outriggers replacing on both sides.

It will be cheap for a reason.

Cheers,
Matt.

*it may well be absolutely fine of course, just hypothesising.

He needs a quick sale, it has high mileage (higher than your average Chim buyer would like) and it's the middle of winter with loads of Chims for sale.

In all honesty it's only worth a couple of grand more with 50k miles on it. I'd buy it (if I could convince the dearly beloved she needs a Chim )

I'd say it's priced about right. It sounds honest to me.

market seems pretty dead and flooded at the mo. I have dropped mine to £10.5k now and no joy and mine is mint and sub 50k miles.

Higher than most people like; 100K is something of a psychological barrier in the UK.

Cracking advert for you lot selling low milers though.

If my Cerb engine gets to that, I'll be well chuffed.

Or the speedo/odometer stopping and not getting it fixed hence losing a few thousand miles

If any Cerb or Tuscan gets to 100 K without major engine problems - I'll walk on Water and feed 5000 on just bread and Wine..

Feck me, 10-grand's worth of servicing over 20k miles, and I thought that spending £500 on my Saab over the last 20k miles was pricey!

It does say best offer over £7k, although as stated with a flooded market it might not get any offers at all.

As opposed to this one which has done hardly any in comparison (although it is 5 years younger)!

www.silverstonetvr.com/approved_tvr/cars/Chimaera%204.5.html

Took a look at it when we were up there at the weekend - look absolutely stunning in the flesh (in my opinion). I wasn't a lover of bright yellow before, but this one is beautiful.

I've met the guy who bought this & had a look over the car - he only knows me because I work near him & he's 'heard' me drive past every day. It needs a LOT of work doing, especially cosmetically and I'd say it has been very neglected. At a guess it needs around £4k spending on it to bring it up to a reasonable level. Hope he manages to get it sorted - another new PHer & Mid-Essex member maybe?

So has he picked it up already ? It still said 'for sale' yesterday - guess they must be a bit behind with keeping their website up to date.

Here's hoping he has a lot of fun with it !
