With all the hoo-hah surrounding the next gen consoles coming out before Christmas, what deals are out there for the older models?

I'm in the market for an Xbox 360, preferably the 250gb one, but if the price was right, I would make do with a 4gb and grab a 32gb flash drive to tide me over. This is to replace my original unit which keeps dying the rrod. I have fixed it a couple of times, but I'm getting bored of opening it up.

My working out looks like this. I have a few good games I am happy to keep playing. Don't have the money to buy a hatful of games, just to get to where my library is now. The price of any bundle can be offset against the price of a new controller as the included one would enable the kids and I to play along together. Also any included games are a bonus.

Best I think I've seen is the holiday bundle they've released for Christmas. 250gb model 'e', one controller and 4 games: halo4 (I like halo, don't own this one), tomb raider (not bothered), lego Harry potter ( the kids have enjoyed a few of the other lego games), and something else that escapes me for now. £169 all in.

Are there any better deals knocking around? Are the prices likely to tumble much further amidst the clamour for the new hardware?

Shopto are knocking them out on ebay, 250gb just with tomb raider and halo 4 for £149.

At that sort of differential, it's got to be new surely?

Either buy the package that suits you well (which the one listed seems to) or do what we did when there wasn't a package that suited which was buy the console bundle with a freshly released game (think it was fifa 14 or some other crappy football game) for around £150 on offer, sold the bundled game on ebay for more than they were selling for on amazon rather queerly and ended up getting the console for around £100.

If it's the latest Tomb Raider game it'll be excellent.

Argh, I've looked at so many, I've lost the web page.

Will go back and locate it.

Ooh, the marvel game would be a useful makeweight, as it's a game we may have bought separately.

Will see if I can put some nectar points towards it too.
