Really like the look of the Coupe.... especially with the glass roof.
Pricing seems to be better than the Convertible and, if I had the money, I think I would be really tempted....

V6 Std - 335bhp, 332lb/ft £51k
V6 'S' - 375bhp, 339lb/ft £60k (can't see the point of this one tho !)
V8 'R' - 542bhp, 502lb/ft £85k

Now I don't know if Jag are making a profit on the F-Type, and gawd knows what the Research, Development and Production tooling cost was, but quite a lot of car for the money don;t you think ?

Penny for you thoughts... It's the ball park price range, quality, performance and equipment levels for any new TVR I would have thought....

Like it.

Will add one to the fold after they have had time to settle in a bit.

Like any software, never get the .0 version, always the .2 or .3 biggrin

I have seen 2 of these on the road and they are stunning, take a look at the dashboard styling.......a few ideas pinched from the Cerb I think!

Ever since they presented the prototype, i really liked the design. In my opinion the coupe is by far prettier than the convertible. It certainly invokes the "Ive got to have one" feeling. But why did it end up to be this heavy? nono
So ultimately to me its a gran turismo, not a real sportscar. What a shame.

aparently its actually based on the old XKR chassis which is one of the reasons for the weight and it is a big car for a pure two seater.

The F Type V8S is the closest thing I've driven in feel to my Sag. The F Type R Coupe should be the modern Sag IMO. If Jag do an employee deal on the F Type R next year it will replace my 13 XKR. Stratus Grey, red / black duotone interior, red brake calipers, black 20in cyclones, job's a good 'un.

It's probably the nail in the coffin of any hypothetical future TVR though (if anyone believed such a thing would be built). (IMHO)

You clearly haven't driven an F Type. I have driven them all on the track and it's very much a sportscar. The coupe will be even more so.

The OP was probably looking for what current TVR owners think of it.

Never driven one. I simply dislike the general trend going for heavier cars. Its simply physics. You can always try to get a heavier car to handle better with this and that. But the easier way would be to build a lighter one in the first place. I turned to TVR because they focus on the simple things you'd need for fun motoring.

I agree: If i would search for a everyday car, that i could also use for fun drives, i wouldn't mind a few extra pounds. Having said that i would rather turn to a lighter Porsche Cayman S than a F-Type.

I was... especially as we have new owners of the TVR 'brand' thinking of how to start production again... There is already a thread for 'general' enthusiasts attached to the NEws item on the main PH page...

This one's for fans of the Great British Sports Car group hehe

The V6 'S' has been hailed by all the critics as the best one to go for out of the whole line up. They say that the power band is just perfect for UK roads, with the Std (lol) not being punchy enough and the V8 being too long winded and too difficult to open up on B roads.

For my money the F-type is the first car to come along since the Sag that is just jaw droppingly stunning. Every time i see one, my knee jerk reaction is to sell the Sag and jump straight in, but then i remember the Sag and i come to my senses.

Would love to see the V6 'S' engine in the new TVR whatever it may be. It sounds the right type of gritty and ticks all the other boxes...

I was at the Kop Hill Climb in September and there was a Jag stand there.

I just stood looking for a while and my daughter came up to me and just said one thing "mother will kill you if you buy another car".

I was sorely tempted to take the risk that day:-)

Lovely looking car, not sure what would be best for me the "S" or the "R" depends what would be best as a track day toy to go with the Cerbera?

Unfortunately I have to agree with that, on the plus side it reminded me of my TVRs but on the downside such feelings lead to this:

I was prepping myself to buy what ever car TVR launched first but maybe its age, but with the F type providing 90% of the experience without the pain/love/despair/elation of ownership that comes with a TVR/new car from a new company I fear the coupe might have pushed irrevocably me to the Jag fold.

Not often I agree with Unrep, but he is bang on the ball.

I suspect more than just us 2 Sag owners will be having similar thoughts.
