hi there,

after seeing now several cars with the act & tvr power backbox
it seems to be obvious that the right exhaust tube is longer than
the right one. first of course tried to adjust the exhaust as i thought
adjustment problem. second i pulled the exhaust and measured the tube
that is going straight back..... of course right one is longer that
left...... it is now the third car with this problem and i am asking myself
why is the right tube longer than the left ? got the batch produced
after a long sunday night on an early monday morning ?

other have the same experience ?

Nope, mine are the same although they are handed Left & Right and won't fit the other way round.

Send it back to where you got it from. Its been made by someone who needs glasses, or was under the influence while making it. I dont understand how it could be so bad... these things are normally made on a jig.

I guess google translate turned the German equivalent of "crap" into "lush", which amusingly is kind of the opposite of crap.

youre right smile crap is the right word .....

i am just thinking of sending it back to TVR Power or to ACT..... as the amount of T350´s in germany is not that big and 4x of 4x known cars with this exhaust have the mentioned problem.... if it would have been done by a friend on no cost basis no problem and room for complaints but if i remember correctly i paid around 4 or 500 quid. so if 4 out 4 cars in germany are affected by this problem i guess a lot more in the UK......

or we put those 8x pipes and sent them bulk to where they belong to ? biggrin

thought TVR Power had them made by ACT. mistake on my side then.

so it seems obviously powers not "lush" ... crap biggrin

Yep that looks proper on the piss. Mine are OK but they are about 3 years old.

I dont think they make them themselves, probably just passing on a parcel and unfortunately havent really looked at them. Don't think you will have a problem getting set right, which is probably the important thing.

If I get a backbox it will probably be a custom job by 2bular, had one in my elise sc, sounded amazing and half the weight but not loud, and beautifully made.

Pictured here is the "old" version, which from my point of view was better in quality. Look at the end tips, they are different. I had both sets, and the old ones definately were better build.

very interested in the pics, i'm just about to make up a new back box for the LS tam, using 2.5 diameter tube, and a pair of 8 by 5 silencers 6 inch long, so seeing the various options helps me to put something together that will work (i hope)

any more pics of these sort of options would be great.

back to the original issue, does seem that someone just got a little lazy with the jig, or perhaps it was jigged from an original piece that itself wasnt correct.

i've already a single silencer aftermarket rear box on the tam, and the legs off that are about 10mm out.... was hoping to use that modified but the internals of the silencer are not suitable/

Yep this is the version I have, look/sound really nice, also and it may just be my eyes, but the ends on the OP's cans don't look too good either, anyone else see this?
