Best places to eat Covent Garden/Strand?
Discussion
This weekend, I'm taking the OH to see the Lion King at the Lyceum as she's 'wanted to see it her whole life' apparently - or something like that. We're in need of somewhere nice (but not breaking the bank) to eat afterwards but I don't know London restaurants too well as always there for brief visits.
Can any Knowledgable PHers reccomend me somewhere to eat? Don't want Michelin starred food so nothing too extravagant but has to be tasty.
Trip Advisor as usual is a mixed bag of reviews so no indication.
Cheers.

My advice is to get out of the square. There's nothing worth eating there if you're spending conservatively.
Sophie's is great, and does a good line in cocktails. There's The Real Greek in an old pub up on Long Acre for a bit of novelty (chain) Greek food. Osteria Dell'Opera does a decent job of Italian on Drury Lane.

Try Dishoom if you fancy a nice ruby. Rather unusual but good food. http://www.dishoom.com/covent-garden/. Massala Zone is practically next door to the Lyceum http://www.masalazone.com/locations/covent-garden/
You have Jamie's kitchen and Cantina Laredo http://www.cantinalaredo.co.uk/menu.php 5 mins away, and all of Chinatown 5 mins further again.

For something more informal Belgo is nice in a beer, mussels and chips kind of way.
very true although not tooooo pricy (some things are) it is a bit formal/fine dining
How about the Hawksmoor on Langley Street or a little further away in a taxi is:

I love this place although there are no options barring the one set menu (they do give you seconds though!!!)

Opera Tavern
Condesa
Polpo
Delaunay (or the counter)
Sophies
Mishkins
Southern Joes
STK
Cucina Assellina
Pips Dish
Loch Fyne
Joe Allen
You really are spoilt for choice TBH.
If you want REALLY convenient, Bill's new brasserie is actually attached to the Lyceum after it failed miserably as Canteen.
ETA other than Southern Joes, ALL of them are literally 1 minute walk away.

Loch Fyne can blow hot and cold.
Joe Allen is fun for a bit of "that fella over there, which 80s sitcom was he in?".
