Best to sign off JSA, or not?

I have a job interview on my 'signing on' day at the job center. I won't provide evidence of the interview as I don't want the JC contacting the employer and quite frankly ruining my chances. I'm told as a result, I will be recorded as a 'refusal to attend', leading to a loss of JSA for a minimum of four weeks, which they refer to as being 'sanctioned'.

So the question is, would signing off before the interview, then signing back on after the interview avoid the sanction, or not?

The Jobcentre shouldnt need to contact the interviewers, if you've got an email or letter inviting you for interview you can drop that in and re-arrange your signing date

The above, contact the job centre tell them you have an interview give them the details to prove it and re-arrange your sign on.

Surely the jobcentre would be encouraging you to go to the interview and not sanctioning . As said they have no reason to call the employer if you show a confirmation letter / email etc.

They will call the client/agency to confirm that you attended, but only if you claim travel expenses, other than that they will not contact the employer: they have better things to be doing. Just go and see them before the interview, show them the confirmation letter and re-arrange your sign-on day.
