Best business laptop please?

Vaio used to have a sh!t rep for being fussy about drivers etc. Not sure about them now, bit pricey for what you get IMHO.
IBM have come on a long way since the ThinkBricks and now aren't too bad...I've always used either HP or Dell personally, both of which do the job but HP support is better. You pay a few extra shekels upfront but it justifies in the long term, especially if you're buying a truckload of them. You also get roadmaps and certain guarantees about chipset compatibility from HP that you don't get from Dell.
All IMHO of course, no warranty implied, may contain traces of nut, handwash only, not dishwasher safe etc etc etc.

Got an IBM T41 at the moment. It's been dropped out of a locker on a plane, sat on, generally abused and it's still going strong.
I had a T22 before that and it was bombproof. The IBM's aren't the flashest but IMO they do the job well and if I was spending my own money on a workhorse I would get definately one

depends want you want portablility or power
i have been looking for the last few weeks for an option
and have considered what i require
if you want light and portable go for centrino but you loose on power but gain on battery ,
Sony pretty good for this and also IBM
for pure power go for a pentium or amd chip
the units are heavier and less kind to battery but are better than the centrino's
*****comments deleted due to ongoing dispute ******
a little pricey but the spec is awesome and you get 3 year warranty
of course choosing a laptop is a personal opinion and preference so whatever one person recommends may not suit you
trawl the web ,look at the reviews and work to a budget
happy hunting
i chose power over practical must be the reason i own a TVR

I've just been reccommended an NEC too. How do these compare to an IBM T series? Apparently they will offer an on site repair upgrade as well.

IBM v NEC people - thanks v much!

I could pick holes in that till the cows come home, but now's not the time. If you're after performance, go for a Dell Precision M50. IBM are most reliable, generally anything that's made of metal rather than plastic will be a good bet.
