interesting - have you tried them back to back ?much much better than their sennheiser equivelants
reviews state :-
harsh top end and poor reliability + fabric cable rubbing noise penetrating the listening experience.
So....I'll be staying with sennheisers then.

How about a set of SoundMagic E10s.

You might be able to get the E10M in budget that have the Mic + Remote on them.

Mine don't have a problem with wire noise and yes I've owned both and would choose the RHA over the sennheisers.
They benefit from a bit of bedding in when they are first used so maybe the harsh top end was a little premature
I've no personal experience, but WhatHiFi really rate the SoundMagic E10.

I had some CX-300 Mk1s that I liked but they ended up in a washing machine
(long story, they actually still work but there is no bass at all).
I bought some CX-300-IIs but I'm not convinced they are as good as my original pair. I very nearly bought the E10s but got put off by lots of reports from owners of the earbuds falling apart. I didn't find the RHA's at that time.

Bought a pair of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B008ET9VY0/ref=mp_...
They sound great straight of the box! I'm replacing beyer dynamic dtx100 which sounded great but fell apart after 2 years!

I have had three sets of sound magic, all superb sound quality. Unfortunately all three were returned within six months of getting them as they broke, one ear piece would die. No sound out of it.
Now on RHA, not quite the quality of the Sound Magic but far better than any Sennheiser in ear I have tried at these prices and seem to work past warranty end.

Unfortunately, the cable generates a horrendous 'thudding' sound with any movement.
Forget using them for running, walking or even sitting on a train. The noise the cable generates is just unbearable.
Mine have been sat in a drawer unused for 12 months. Such a waste.
