I was told that there were some griffs running the DTA

I already know what you have run Daz and have read all the tails of woe and every one over the fence seems to run
Squirt,emerald or the Lloyd's kit

Also been told to stay away from the MS and emerald by 3 mappers

Rofl...nice to see you back Quinny cool

As for DTA...Hmm, have you looked at the Link G4 Extreme (its basically a Motec with all the extras enabled) for emerald money [with a wiring loom included] cool

I'm running dta and have had absolutely no probs with it. That said I don't tinker with it as I don't know what I'm doing! Had it mapped at Northampton Motor Sport and the car runs fine. Certainly happy to recommend It as long as your mapper is familiar with it.

Not that I've noticed, one jab of the throttle and it starts first time every time.

The only reason mappers don`t like Megasquirt is because they can be built by anyone ,If you stick with EFI Extras then you won`t have any problems .

How dare you call Emerald ! Its what i`m having fitted and mapped .

If one of the top mappers in the UK recommends the Emerald i will listen to every word and take his advice !!!

Thor have the g4 extreme at 1400.00 pounds on their website .. or twice the price of a k6 emerald! it's a nice ecu though (will also run full sequential on an 8 cylinder) if you have the pockets for it.

Oh yes, all new john eales engine and induction system with new wiring loom and all sorts of electronic crap binned. I would check you have a good mapper who is happy with dta before you buy

All of these ecu`s are more than capable of performing on the old RV8. ok some might not be able to go fully sequential, but is it really needed ? I`d suggest not. The RV8 runs fine on batch fired injection as has been proven over the many years its been used. With lumpy cams, i bet you would be hard pressed to tell one running fully seq, all things being equal.

As has been said before. Go with what your mapper prefers to work with, as it is he who is hopefully going to get you the results, not the ecu.

I dont run the stepper or any idle valve with the Emerald. starts just fine without, no more hassles.
