Newbie Octavia Vrs & Defender
Discussion
I have been coming on Pistonheads for months now but have finally decided to join up!
I am 21 and currently studying mechanical engineering at University and thanks to spending last year on a paid placement I can just about afford to run these two cars
I have had the skoda for a year and a half now and it has steadily grown on me. It currently has some breather mods and a stage 1 remap and although not exactly fast, it provides me with a bit of fun and about 30mpg.

The defender was something I have always wanted to own since a small child. March this year I went half's with my dad as a bit of a project and to have a go at getting my hands dirty as the mechanics on the 200tdi are really simple. However touch wood for a 21 year old Land rover it as has been extremely reliable(probably just jinxed myself there)
