So Jack Straw is about to close a deal with Spain to give Gibraltar joint sovereignty with the UK - and has he consulted the Gibraltaran residents – no way. Just made some mumblings about putting it to the vote. Why bother? Practically every resident has already demonstrated against any changes. Just waste some more public money on funding public servants to organise the vote.

RANT MODE OFF

Who cares, the Gibraltarians are mostly a bunch of bigoted foreigners anyway. If it were me, I'd sell the lot of them to the Spaniards for a fiver. The only thing the place is good for is cheap booze, and you can get that at Calais.

Just out of interest will Spain agree joint control of its two or three little enclaves in Morocco?

Personally, I think this is a disgraceful state of affairs.

But, there are much more pressing things for me to be railing against..

Gibraltar is a munkeh occupied shitehole with possibly the most frightening runway in Europe, so big deal..

It's been on the cards for a long long time.. these people just don't seem to realise that Spanish sovereignty would mean an extra 4 hours a day in bed. So it's hard to feel bad for them

True, and a whole load more handouts from Brussels, courtesy of the member states that are net donaters to the European cause. oh bugger, that's us

Never been there, never want to either. So it's got a Marks and Spencer ? Big deal, so's Rugby.

Jack Straw says:

"The dispute is also damaging to Britain's interests because we are trying to build a strategic alliance with Spain to help deliver the EU we both seek ... "

So let me get this straight. We are going to sell out a bunch of loyal British subjects to the Spanish cos if we don't then the Spaniards won't do wot we want in the EU, in the face of the overwhelming democratic opposition of the Gibraltarian people .
If the "EU we both seek" is what Spain wants, why do we have to bribe them with Gibralter?

This is a shabby, shabby disgrace. If this goes through I will be ashamed to call my self British. This country stands for the rights and democratic freedoms of people. We have shed huge ammounts of blood defending democratic principals over the years.
Mark my words, Gibralter first, then The Falklands, then the Channel Islands, then the Isle of Whight.
tell you what, why don't we go the whole hog and make Kent an Albanian protectorate; It'll be so much easier, and at least the Albanians will be nice to us then and give us what we want, won't they?

ARSE!!!!

And if we're lucky the spics'll get the argies to help them invade and I'll have to get my uniform out again to bail out another lot of shiftless pinko swine who f**+ up and cost lives.........
remember Malaya, Borneo, Aden, Dhofar and a couple of other scraps, and our small territory exactly 20 years ago in the south atlantic..... all based on Labours bumbandits conniving with the enemy!

My father's family is Gibraltarian and although I've never lived there, I fully intend to move to the area when I retire.

I won't go into a rant on the subject, but may I just point out sheer the gall of the Spaniards to say that Gib is theirs because it's geographically part of Spain, and in the same breath to maintain that a 500 metre x 200 metre uninhabited island 200 metres off the coast of Morocco belongs to them and are prepared to use military force to chuck off the 15 or so members of the Moroccan army that landed there earlier this week.

B*ll*cks! They're not loyal British subjects, they're all Greeks, Italians, and God knows what, either that or rich ex-pats who don't give a toss about what goes on in this country, so why should we give a toss about them?

Still at ***** !
I get it back in 10 days. They are doing the exhaust FOC (+ the body damage they did last time it was in)
Also have rear wheel bearings done (both Donald Ducked!)
Apart from that going GREAT! The trip to Le Mans really blew the cobwebs out.

How much for the bearings?
Up at 4 for a 5 start, weather permitting top off (scare the lot of you I will). Whats the bets I see no TVR on the way. Give up on the many I have seen on the truck.
Bit on topic, Jersey for sale?
