Hi folks, I am needing a rebuild on a 289cui ford motor, nothing too silly, needing some headwork and new rings as she's blowing a fair bit of oil through. I was intially thnking of doing it myslef, but lack ot talent and time precludes it biggrin

Falconers have been recommended to me by a seasoned classic car restorer. I'm about to drop a cylinder head off with him for some work. He refuses to do any porting / polishing though so I've done that myself. He'll be doing hardened valve seat inserts, seat recuts and a sealing face skim. I'll fit the new guides and lap the valves in myself afterwards.

Thanks chaps, will look into these, that escort looks bonkers, reckon that's an LS1 motor in there!

Any other suggestions?

Thanks chaps, looks like I have found the right man! he seems pretty keen so cheers for the recommendations. Now to decide whether to keep stock or make it a little more frisky..

That is some collection, I only have 2 V8s but i guess there is always room for another!

I was thinking some alloy heads and roller rockers, it has already got the edelbrock cam, intake and carb so should be plenty.

I had a 351w built for my old 69 and it was slightly over engined for the brakes and suspension, which was fun but scary!
