Singer 'Indonesia': Pic Of The Week

Dial 911 for emergency - more Porsche-based content on PH!

In Singer's picture folder for its grey 'Indonesia' car, there are 67 images. As you can imagine, it's been rather a challenge to select just one for POTW. You know where to look for additional pics...

This car is the very one Chris was talked around in his Singer vid at the beginning of this year (it's from 11:47 is there isn't time to watch it all) when it was in build. With the car now completed and Dan having just returned from his own Californian Porsche pilgrimage, it seemed apt to feature the Indonesia car.

This pic encapsulates everything we love about the Singer style; those gorgeous custom arches, incredible Fuchs-style wheels and fabulous, freakish attention-to-detail. Take a look at that filler cap!

Finally, an advance notice for non-911 fans; Dan is eagerly prepping a standalone Singer story for next week, which may well involve some rear-engined Porsche love. You have been warned...

Have to say, I think one of these would be high up my lottery win list. So, so wonderful.

I'm not a big Porsche fan, but somehow what Singer does speaks to me a great deal. Lovely things, just wish I had the wallet to buy one!

I have no spare time in my life at all. I don't really have that much spare cash (certainly not Singer money!), but if people keep thrusting beautiful picks of vintage (or vontage style) 911s in front of me, I am going to end up buying one.

No part of me doesn't want every part of that.

Except that fuel filler. I know what it's a nod to, but it just spoils it for me frown Can nothing be perfect?!

Don't get it. Why not just buy an original if you're that bothered and that rich? It's only a pastiche after all.

It's really not, it's a 'greatest hits' at it's bare bones, with bespoke work then dripping out of every orifice - have you seen any of the in depth Singer pieces out of interest? The attention to details is tremendous. It's nothing like a pastiche IMHO, it's a collection of one person's favourite parts, finished with a tremendous amount of skill and vision.
A pastiche would imply a low rent imitation, like an MR2 355. I can't even think of a suitable metaphor for Singer, but it would be more like getting a 911 made by Eagle.
