As per the title. Mustang GT. 16 days old. Woman reverses into me in a Landcruiser in a supermarket car park today. Says she didn't see me. I couldn't reverse due to traffic behind me. Just had to watch it happen whilst standing on the horn.

But, bless her, she was mortified when she saw what she had done, and when I told her it was just over 2weeks old.

Plod came by and tried to inject some humour. Asked her why she had to hit this car when there were so many others to choose.

It is just a car. It can be repaired. Now, breathe..............

Please don't ask for pics, I can't bring myself to look at it.

That sucks. Hope she didn't reverse into the side of your car - that would be a tricky repair. More importantly, what model of Mustang did you get, and what colour?

Fortunately all damage is front bumper only. It's a 2014 V8 in silver, manual. It's fabulous, if I do say so myself

No. Use your imagination. Imagine a newly cleaned gleaming mustang with dirty scuffs al over a now misaligned front bumper. No pics

It does indeed sound fabulous - the current 5.0 V8 is a good lump. Bumper damage doesn't sound too bad. It'll be looking good as new in no time.

Thanks codswallop. When I were a younger man, I think I would have been traumatized. Not a scratch on the toyota

It's a yank thing. They change the spec every year, so the 2014 spec is released well in advance. A little strange I know

On the plus side - matching the paint will be easy.

The body shop guys will likely take more care with it - as it isn't a Vectra, Passat etc

Your baby will be brand new.

Agency repair? Not that I trust Al Tayer as far as I could throw a Range Rover.

Had the same thing happen to me in my first car at age 17, it is sickening!

Really? That's interesting as it is agency repair. What do I need to be aware of?

I had my first taste of dxb repairs in sept when my wife banged her car. The non agent repair was absolutely fking tragic.

I really wouldn't know where to start with that tale

All manufacturers do it here In Dubai. It's just one of those things. No big deal once you are used to it

To be fair I have never had any paint done at Al Tayer but the last time they touched anything mechanical was it's last free service years ago. Mine is serviced/maintained at http://www.lrperformance.me/, wouldn't trust anyone else.

Have also had AWFUL non agency paint done when some bint in a Saudi plated 911 rear ended me. Just a hazard of living here I think frown

As long as you know what you are looking for when you get it back I guess you'll be ok.

Got it back today. Had to make them tidy up some bits and sort out some panel alignment, but in fairness, overall they did a great job. It looks beautiful.
Chuffed.

One of my mates scrimped and saved to buy a nice car once he graduated from Uni. Got some money from his granny, worked as much as he could, etc.

Decided that a Saxo VTR was the car for him (back in 2001). Sold his trusty 205 diesel and took the plunge on a new one with free insurance.

On the way back from collecting it from the Citroen dealer 15 miles away, some old duffer in a Cavalier pulled out on him. He hit the brakes but still T-boned it.

The Saxo was a write-off with barely double-digit mileage.

Edit to add: it's not a saxo, but st happens!

She will be cleaned and given many coats of wax on the weekend. Pictures to follow.
