Hi, my jan 2011 Vantage coupe is coming up to its 3rd birthday and I'm thinking about extended warranty. I paid £900 on my previous 2008 Vantage and this was a good deal compared to other reports on PH. I know I will go ahead anyway but given the carrying quotes between dealers, I wonder if anyone has done this recently. Thanks.

£900 was an amazing price. I had Premium Extended warranty on my old V8V and it was £1,500 to renew to the standard warranty. I thought Premium Extended was around £1,800 and you have to have the 140-point check done for which some dealers want around £400, although some do it FOC if you are taking the warranty.

My warranty expired 3 years ago, didn't fancy paying for an extended warranty, only things replaced in that time have been wear and tear issues that wouldn't be covered by warranty anyway, so feel like i'm £4.5 to the good.

Someone else just posted about the warranty not worth it: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I got a Vantage with 2 years "free", and so far haven't used it - a punctured tyre, failed front light ballast and empty battery were deemed not covered by the warranty. So I wouldn't buy one.
