The term near in near-miss means close to (i.e. near as in proximity, not as in almost)

The miss was near as it was only centimetres away, it was so close that I nearly hit him.

Near miss is just a "close one" as it were.


Link is a mix of near misses and crashes.

Photographer was fine in fact he sent me the photo he took the second before he got out the way
