I know this has probably been done to death but I want to ask anyway.
Me and my brother are wanting about 600bhp in our GTR and I want to know your guys recommendation on specific engine, whether it be NA or modified, source of engine and ease of dropping it into the car etc. with respect to reliability, price and if there's an issue.
Also gearbox, is the recommended G50 the best way to go with this kind of power?
Anything useful appreciated.

I think the LS 3 is probably the best value motor available at the moment, money saved against say an LS 7 could get you a whole heap of desirable mods, you could improve on the valve train, fit a mild cam and a couple of turbo's or a supercharger

a supercharged RS4 engine may get you that power with a redline of aprox 8000rpm. not sure if it would be lighter. would be interesting to know the weight of that engine combo.
could also use the Audi box which would also be lighter and cheaper. A NA RS4 will make less torque that the LS series engines which is why i think you could get away with the AUDI box. need to look into if it would be an issue with a charged RS4 engine.

LS engine would be the easiest to bolt up as its supported by the factory.
LSA 6.2 is 556HP factory from GM. better exhaust/cam or just a pully change on the charger would get over 600 i would think
