Pioneer plasma connectivity
Discussion
Hi
Last night, I hauled my Panasonic plasma off the wall, it's tough work alone, they're not light!
I've acquired a Pioneer PCP 43" Plasma (it's a bit older than my Panny, but I'm pretty sure it's a better TV) and has the speakers that bolt on the side, so should sound a bit better as TV only audio stands.
However, imagine my surprise, once i'd bolted the bracket to the tv, all about to lift on the wall, and noticed the Pioneer doesn't have an HDMI slot!!!
The media box accepts HDMI, but the tv has two fancy looking seperate leads, apparently a modified DVI lead and a special DFP lead..
Now, i'm not pulling the wall down and replastering, so....is there any guaranteed way of getting a signal for this tv via the HDMI cable built in?
Please help!!!

you can't just connect a HDMI lead directly to the TV as the media box has a lot of the control gubbins in it
iirc....
That's what I thought, was hoping there would be a fancy cable that would take the entire signal and convert it to HDMI to send down the wire, then split it again at the other end.iirc....
Never mind.
Anyone want a 43" plasma in superb condition with Media Box? I'm in Lowestoft.

What Pioneer model exactly and what Panaonsic.
The Pioneers only started to get really good with the 8G models, before that they struggled with blacks and never looked great with anything dark.
I preferred my PHD8 Panny over my Pioneer 500M Kuro in many areas, so don't write the Panny off just yet.

Late responding here.
I do have the cable, but the bracket where the tv is only has an HDMI cable running to it. The Sky box/Xbox etc are in the corner of the room 7m away!
I'm going to use the Pioneer when we convert the garage into a play room, wife has confirmed this is okay.
I'll just have to save for a new fancy one.

I have the same telly and media box but a broken cable (cut off at one end).
One half is a std DVI but the other looks like a Pioneer special. It was working fine when I took it off the wall. I have a projector for movies now and this 43" is too big for the lounge apparently.
Just sat in my games room until I can find a solution. I'll take a cable off anyone who has one spare or if you want the telly PM me.
