Bought some new Magnecor plug leads, dist cap & plugs etc from ATC Tuning, They were really helpful and informative.
When it came to fitting the leads and cap, I saw that there is a drawing showing the order of the leads in the Bible, so duly removed the cap with all the leads. Fitted the new bits on as per the drawing only to find that the car wouldn`t start, bugger. Had a look through some past threads and found a diagram of the cap and leads, Shock horror, the Bible`s drawing is one lead out ( they need to move anti clockwise 1 space!) Car now runs.....
moral of the stoty, locate and identify No 1 lead on the cap before you remove it!

You will find that depending on who fit distributor originally, the leads would be arranged to suit.
A few years ago i had an engine built at V8D. I then took it for setting up at Power Engineering with Mark Adams, who then removed and refit the distributor altering the position of the leads to suit.
Some people like it one way.......

Not quite sure how that works, I thought that there would only be a limited position to fit the distributor, with regards to the ignition timing etc!

You dizzy can be swung through a wide angle relative to the rest of the engine. It can work in any orientation, you just need to make sure the leads are positioned correctly relative to the rotor arm.
