Hi all

Anyone else experienced this?:

The lock barrel on our 156 (drivers door) occasionally sticks in, meaning the door will not close. Normally, a quick prod of the internal door lock button will make it pop out again - but not this morning, I actually had to put the key in the lock and turn it very slightly in order for it to pop out. I'm assuming this is only going to get worse

This may sound silly, but this always seems to happen when the car has been washed, or at least when the lock is very wet.

Am I looking at a new lock? If so, I'm assuming that means new keys etc

Just a bit of Italian "character", I guess

Try a good dose of WD40 in and around the lock barrel.

It happens a lot, especially in the winter.
Give the button a really good clean to make sure there's no gravel and dirt on it then a big does of WD40 or GT35 or whatever. Push the button in and out while you are doing it. You might need to do it a few times and then it should be OK.

use the straw supplied with wd40 or sim.
poke it into the key hole..spray away!!!
drop the window glass down and spray more with the straw onto the lock, open the dorr and see if you can get more into the lock....
if this is still not good enough
strip door cover off (nicely) and lub from the inside... will take 30 mins. do not get a new lock.
