Carrera 3.8l engine replacement

My 2006 911 cs2 engine gone bust. This was due to connecting rod bearing jam.
Looking for either new or good reconditioned engine.
Can any one help where to find such engine.

Yep. www.hartech.org 01204 302809 if you want the job done properly by the people that have done the most research & development for solutions to these engines' problems.

Budget for £7-9k for the complete job at a guess.


You could perhaps get a used engine fitted for £4.5k but it's not a risk I'd take personally.

Ship it off to Hartech for a full rebuild. It'll come back in better nick than when it left the factory.

Another vote for hartech. Get it rebuilt, and get it strengthened whilst you're there. My car had a rebuild there 3 years ago with strengthening and cooling modifications, and uprated IMS, etc.

Must admit I'd not heard much of that failure mode before though...
