Daughter was let down recently by someone and is looking for a Jack Russell Pup anyone in West Central Scotland know of any reputable breeders?

We got our Cairn from a list of authorised/recognised breeders that way.

Sure there were jack russel pups for sale in an advert in Kilmarnock pet shop seen it last Saturday

UNLESS you can be sure pet shop is not an outlet for puppy farm STAY CLEAR. I'd ask a Russell rescue place to recommend a breeder. Be aware that a Jack needs a lot of exercise. Personally I'd go for a Cairn ,and I'd look to ask the trustees of CTRF for breeders .There is one Cairn breeder rescuer in Edinburgh ,who'll give you an honest opinion of a dog. They are experts in Cairns and check out rescues for temperament before rehoming, or recommend a good breeder.

Daughter moves in horsey circles so is aware of needs of Jack Russell as a few folk have them

Got my dog from the Killie pet shop window deffo not an outlet for a puppy farm breeders do advertise in this shop.I do concur with your comments and would only recomend a reputable breeder no connections to me only saw advert,hope you find a good dog

Wav- on Cairn no 2, from CTRF. Both great dogs, but they're cairns. Humper- the pound- depends on the dog. I go to breed rescue to rescue the breed I love, but also knowing that the rescuers know the breed inside out. Additionally, most breed rescuers rescue and home rescues for the love of the breed. Volunteers transport the dogs ,mostly at no cost to the charity. the dogs are fed/watered/loved/homed by breeders as an extra dog. So any payment to the breed rescue is profit to the breed rescue( in the main). The main profit is knowing that the dog has a good forever home. My bonus is that I have rescued a dog looking for a home it never had. Im my case I've got a puppy farm breed female, who was suspected of being abandoned as she's had too many pups. She's never known the comfort of living inside, or having constant human company , or being included in trips to the shops, or being able to stick her paws on a knee and have her ears rubbed, and lick the hand that stroked her.

Did look at rehoming but at the time all of the pounds seamed to have was staffies and as my daughter has disabilities,was a little worried so went to a recommended breeder for our standard yorkie met both parents, fantastic dog with my daughter and would not be without him.Have tried to get him a companion from a rescue center but to date no luck,I commend you on giving a good...great home to a dog hat off to you sir
