Any tips on getting rid of black eyes? I did it/got it Sunday afternoon and have been icing on and off since. Ideally I would like the swelling and bruising gone by next Saturday for a Christmas party.

Any tips? Old-wives tales? Great grannies secret recipes to help get it gone?

Cheers
Stace

nope - 2 weeks till its gone, make up or sunglasses for you!

Last time I had black eyes was after moshing at a GNR gig - headbutted by the back of someones head - nose explosion- awesome.

Had to do a presentation in finland, complete with full black eyes, a couple of days later - no-one even asked!!

Mine was from the other halves elbow. Turns out his putting plates away in the cupboard elbow height is Stacey eye-socket height.

Wife ended up with 2 shiners last year and nope nothing could be done. They went all sorts of rainbow colours during the 2 weeks as well.

She turned into a recluse and cancelled various family gatherings.

Sorry.

Take pictures, you'll laugh in a year's time!

Ice, Ice and more Ice for the first couple of days. Warm compresses after that.

bacon, slap some bacon on it, works wonders apparently, during the good times we used minute steak but iI'm sure bacon will work (follow basic food hygeine practice when dealing with raw meat ;-)

Yes, I am sure that laying raw meat on your face will help with internal bleeding.

Are you from the 1940's?

Just me that thinks that if its just the colour that is annoying the OP.

Then get a trowel and apply foundation to hide it.

Swelling would be ice etc...

Don't know if it will help since you already have black eyes, but try arnica tablets. They help reduce the bruising and can be had from Holland & Barrett and other like places.

Cheers all. I'll try anything to take the swelling down. My eye has been pretty much swollen shut since I woke up Monday morning.

Ice isn't taking it down at all.

You sure that's what it is? Sounds like Bubonic Plague to me.
