Hey, I put a ridiculously low offer in on an srad gsxr600 earlier this week and to my surprise I won it!

The problem I have is that it's a 4 hour drive away and I don't really fancy riding it back that far in this cold weather!

I've been quoted £150 to deliver the bike by a specialist motorbike transporter, so it makes perfect sense!

My question is how do I go about the transaction of the bike? Will I be expected to pay for the bike and hope they keep to their end of the bargain or what?

I've always bought with cash and this is the first time I've ever bought something without seeing it, but it really was that cheap!

Having sold vehicles on eBay before with no reserve and not getting what they're worth, I thought sod it, let's take a chance!

Any advice on how this would typically work?

I'd speak to the delivery company. They'll be used to this.

Hire a van for £40, take a plank of wood and some ratchet straps, drive the van to where the bike is, hand over cash, put bike in van and drive home, its not rocket science.

I wouldn't buy unseen as it could very well be a crock of sh*t and gsxr's do attract a certain type of owner unfortunately.

I've already got my own transit, but it will cost me about £100 in fuel...

I can get it delivered for £150 so thinking for the sake of £50 I may as well get it delivered!!

The pics and description all seem good or else I wouldn't of put a bid in at all!

But that's beside the point....

I'll ask the transport company and see what they say!

Which bike transport company are you planning to use? Some are better than others.

So you're willing to spend an extra £50 for the benefit of having a bike delivered that you have not seen, rather than take your own van, inspect the bike before payment, and then drive it home yourself? Are you mad?

Incredibly trusting perhaps.

I'm with you op. Sometimes you take a punt on stuff.
An 8 hour drive and £100 in petrol against an extra £50 to have it delivered.
I would get it delivered every time.
It might be the best deal you did this year, then again it might not be.
Sell it on if it's not for you.

Pay at least the deposit by paypal so if you are not happy with the bike you have some form of comeback.

Not that I would ever accept paypal on a vehicle I'm selling you understand...

Where is it, and where are you?

Maybe a PH might be going that way for some reason or another and do it in return for (a fair bit) of beer money?
