Six thousand miles away and a couple of years ago the right front wheel of my 03 Turbo was sent out to be refinished to deal with some minor scuffing the wheel received from an impact with a mule deer and the wheel refinisher ruined the wheel. The wheel shop had to replace the wheel. (Retail cost is, was at that time, around $1800 per wheel!)
While I do not believe the odds are high that the same thing will happen in your case, my advise is to be sure you photograph each wheel sufficiently to document the before condition in case something happens when the wheels are out for refinishing.

Did you not contact Exel Wheels as per my recommendation? +1 for Exel. Used them earlier in the year and for the little bit extra you pay over the std lepsons price it was a no brainer. No hassle of farting around with trains getting home or back to collect so the time saving alone was well worth it for me.Paddy_N_Murphy said:
