Paul

I think the maximum height of a speed bump is 4". The trouble with the rubber one's is that they are so abrupt.

Front ride height should be 110mm which is 4.3 inches, if you have a front splitter that is thicker than 8.5mm then you will scrape a 4" hump
Best measure the clearance (with driver on board) before yelling at the local council.

I think the factory increase the ride height (115?)for IVA and then drop it down again afterwards.

However, I use the Notts VOSA Test station (same as factory), and I left mine at 110 for IVA (april) and I had no real problems at all at this height... admitted it was a struggle to get on their ramp halfway through the test, but they helped by using some blocks to get it on and off no problem.

Unfortunately the council of the village I live in is also considering humps. I am expecting to go into some form of battle early next year and any pointers to 'official' bump specifications would be very useful to me.

I have seen various lift kits talked about, I fear that it might be time to actively pursue something..

Group buy maybe ?

Or a petrol demolition saw will do the trick too

I removed some of the rubber bumps at work so that the lorries could drive through unimpeded, but the cars had to have at least one wheel going over the bumps. The cars speeding were the issue and all the bumps did to the lorries was spill pallets of beer if the truck drove over it at anything above less than tickover in first gear (0.25mph).

As I say, 4 bolts and they are gone. Get a ratchet with a clutch, rather than teeth and you could remove them silently.

Well a quick update on the rubber speed humps . I've had a meeting with our local traffic department and council and things are looking good . I've proved The rubber ramp mats are going to cause damage to cars . We've had a ultima / a Tvr and a noble try passing over them all failed to clear we suggested iff humps have to be there that iff the plat form area was 8 ft long there would be no ground clearance issue as long as the ramp was full with off the road . The n drove over a mock up hump to prove this . And in our fight for this we proved at present 8 in ten vehicles didn't slow for what was in place at mo This may sound the wrong way to go but iff were gonna get the calming measures at least there passable this way
