I'm off to a Yank airbase in Germany tomorrow and the thought of picking up a PS4/XB1 had crossed my mind.

Would there be any problem with this if it is an American machine? (Chances are it would be a European one anyway but you never know with the yanks!!)

Will you be using it in the airbase (I mean are you stationed there or just visiting?) as both need day one updates (xbox is useless without it) and you wont be able to do that in a military base.

Just visiting but I have the required entitlement to use their shops, and the US tax free prices for the consoles should be VERY attractive!!!

Well apparently the Xbox itself isn't region locked but the voice commands are, meaning if you intend to use them you'll have to brush up on your American.

Watch for the voltage difference. If the XBO/PS4 is only rated to the American system you'll need a stepdown transformer before you can use it on a 240V UK supply. Plugging it in will basically blow it up so best to be careful. smile

AHH, didn't think about the voltage issue.

I'll ask in the PX about that, Id imagine all the appliances they sell would have to work on German 230v otherwise their houses would have to be FULL of transformers
