Capacitors under dash.

What are the two huge capacitors and the two smaller ones bolted to them used for. I thought they may be a KERS option !

Possibly smoothing capacitors used to ensure a very hi power amplifier/hi fi can instantaneously supply the current required by the speakers?

The capacitors were connected into the alarm system for some reason. The alarm was a Foxguard, both have been removed and having a new alarm fitted as the Foxguard was useless anyway, also taking the opportunity to strip out any surplus wiring.
