Hi guys. not after direct help as such, but my brother has an MGB V8t hat has spent too many years stored in a garage due to him working overseas.
Well, come spring he is looking to return to the UK and the plan is for him to get some work done by a garage/restorer to recomission the old girl to a useable state. It tast saw the light of day in 2006, the garage is a concrete one and the car has been covered while there. Bodywork is fairly good with just minor spots that he will probably do himself. The work to be out-sourced is likely to be refurb brakes and wheel bearings all round and check all usual rubber components like gaitors seals bushes and so on. SU Fuel pump?? Hoses, wiring and whatever would be needed to get it back on the road again. Last time it ran was without any problems.
So are there any recommended garages in or around the Guildford area that you could recommend from experiance??

I know he's a long way from you but what Clive Wheatley doesn't know about MG V8s isn't worth knowing plus he is happy to give advice over the phone etc http://mgv8.homestead.com/

Interesting, will add that to a list of places for him to look into. Shropshire isn't really too silly if we could blag a trailer. More local would probably be better . But never say never.

Sandhurst Bodyworks is a little backstreet outfit that does some supreme work, including an MGC that Classic & Sportscar described as having "flawless" paintwork. They did a superb job for me on my old Humber. And in Berkshire is Beech Hill a garage, an MG specialist that is also very good. I can recommend them both to you.

I'm not far from Guildford, But I've only 36 years in business doing stuff like that, so you might need someone more experienced!

PM if you need help with this - I can recover it too.
