Talk to me about exhausts, I find the standard a little too quiet and want to beef it up a little.

What are the popular choices? Tubi? And any links to suppliers would be appreciated.

Capristo. thumbup

Uses the standard valve operation that means it is unobtrusive at idle, but wakes up at higher revs (and seemingly on step changes in throttle). It is also not boomy at cruising speeds. earsbiggrin

There is an option to have a remote control to open the valves on command but I've so far failed to see the need.

I'm really enjoying it, and it's not really that much different from the GT3 in terms of demanding concentration if you are to avoid the car biting back. smile

A closer comparison is actually to my Caterham: both have identical power-to-weight ratios and consequently are equally fun and challenging to drive. Of course the Gallardo is capable of much higher absolute speeds, but physics dictate that it's additional weight plays against it in directional changes compared to the Seven.

Watch out on PistonHeads for more impressions and reports ... biggrin

Anyway, back on topic: only one of the three has a V10 and a Capristo amplifier. ears

I can recommend Vorstmeister based in Cheshire... This is their system for the Gallardo...

Sorry, missed the earlier replies, it's an LP. I'm still looking, after my Maserati the car is pretty quiet until further up the rev range.

Have a look at BHP in Bucks. They do a good ceramic cat-bypass that lowers temps, sounds louder, and shoots subtle flames out the back. I have zero connection with them (other than being a previous customer).

Good Morning,

Lamborghini do an uprated replacement sports exhaust for the LP560-4, we fitted one to a customers car the other day, its the same one fitted on the Super Trofeo Stradale.

If you would like anymore information please let me know.

Thanks

The sports exhaust sounds great but is circa £6k plus fitting

Have a look at Gallardo Guy's recent thread. He's just had one fitted that he's pleased with.

But you can guarantee that it will work !
Almost all aftermarket exhausts on the Gallardo ruin the fueling and the car does not compensate to a suitable level. Indiana recent test and only 2 of the 7 systems tested worked and surprisingly only 2 companies would allow us to publish the findings. My advice would be to ask the chosen exhaust company if they guarantee the fueling to be ok once fitting the system or will a software update be needed.

I can't personally guarantee it but I would be surprised if it didn't improve performance slightly...

The system is derived from the Super Trofeo race cars so has been well tested, it certainly looks the piece in person and sounds phenomenal

The fuelling would automatically adjust itself to suit, the difference would be the amount of back pressure in the exhaust, which, could lead to aftermarket exhausts loosing power

Zeus wasn't asking you to guarantee it. He was saying that you could.
